Trial begins for Texas man accused of fatal 2021 Christmas Day shooting

The incident stems from a fatal shooting that reportedly took place on Christmas back in 2021.

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — A murder trial has begun for a man accused of shooting and killing another back on Christmas Day in 2021.

The indictment alleges that on Dec. 25, 2021, Mason Lubitz “intentionally and knowingly caused the death of Trevor James Beeman” after shooting him.

The case is being prosecuted by the Criminal Trial Division in the 399th District Court.

Lubitz is facing a first-degree murder charge, which is punishable by five to 99 years in prison and a possible fine of up to $10,000.
