The bodies of the pregnant teen and her boyfriend were found in a locked car the day after Christmas in 2023, sparking a search for the killer.
SAN ANTONIO — The parents accused of helping their son after he allegedly killed a pregnant San Antonio teen and her boyfriend in December 2023 will soon head to trial.
According to online court documents, the combined jury trial for Myrta Romanos, 47, and Ramon Preciado, 54, is scheduled to get underway March 31, more than 15 months after the bodies of Savanah Soto and Matthew Guerra were found in a car in a San Antonio parking lot.
They had been missing for a couple days during the Christmas season before the discovery was made; San Antonio police eventually arrested 20-year-old Christopher Preciado and charged him with murder, saying he pulled the trigger.
Ramon Preciado is charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence. Romanos is accused of those same crimes, as well as tampering with evidence with intent to impair a human corpse.
A trial date for Chris Preciado, charged with murder, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence, has not been set.
Soto and Guerra were found dead with gunshot wounds on Dec. 26, 2023, when a family member was alerted about a car found in an apartment complex in the Medical Center area. Inside were the victims’ bodies.
The Preciados were taken into custody more than a week later on Jan. 4, while Romanos was arrested on Jan. 10, 2024.
