SAN ANTONIO — Three men were arrested in connection to a string of robberies spanning across the Bexar County area, authorities announced Wednesday.
Sheriff Salazar said the serial robberies were brought to their attention on April 13 after deputies were called to the 24600 block of Wilderness Oak around 9 p.m. for burglary of a residence. Witnesses told investigators around 6 p.m. earlier that evening they saw three suspects in ski masks armed with handguns leaving the home along with multiple backpacks, full of athletic shoes and handguns.
Deputies working the robbery believed the crime sounded similar to a previous robbery case in the 7300 block of Kitty Hawk Road in northeast Bexar County and recognized the suspects description. Investigators later determined the cases were linked and the suspects from the robberies were the same individuals.
Salazar said a vehicle seen leaving one of the burglaries was later found in the 13100 block of Watson Road. The vehicle was then seized and a search warrant was executed. Stolen items from the burglaries were found in the vehicle.
According to BCSO, the investigation lead them to 18-year-old Deandre Holmes, who was located and detained. He was also found to be in possession of a stolen firearm from one of the burglaries.
Further investigation revealed that upon being arrested, Deandre contacted 22-year-old Christian Pillow and 19-year-old Daivior Jones while at the Bexar County jail.
Salazar said on April 14, Jones was taken into custody at his residence on the 12300 block of SW Loop 410, and a search warrant was issued. Jones was also found in possession of stolen items and a firearm from the burglary.
On Wednesday, Pillow was taken into custody along the 8400 block of Maple Ridge, where a search warrant was conducted and a stolen gun and other property were located, according to BCSO.
“These are three, armed, dangerous and very violent felons that we were able to pull off the street,” Salazar said.
The sheriff said the trio are part of a criminal street gang and are well known to BCSO from their juvenile years.
Investigators said Holmes faces multiple charges including, burglary of habitation with intent to commit another felony, aggravated robbery, theft of a firearm and organized criminal activity. Jones was also charged with burglary of habitation and organized criminal activity. Pillow faces aggravated robbery and organized criminal activity charges.
