Tripod cat named Bubba seeks lap to curl up on | Forgotten Friends

He may only have three legs but that doesn’t stop him from bouncing around with boundless energy and charm.

KERRVILLE, Texas — Our “Forgotten Friends” series showcases a dog or cat each week that has spent a lengthy time at an area shelter, just waiting for someone to notice them and bring them home to love.

This week’s Forgotten Friend named Bubba was found as a stray with a severe infection on his leg. He had his leg amputated and has recovered and now seeks a loving home with a warm lap to curl up on.

This 5-year-old kitty is a blue and white domestic shorthair with a sweet temperament that has been at Kerrville Pets Alive since the beginning of January.

“Sweet Bubba was trapped, alone and suffering, with his leg severely infected beyond hope of healing,” said Susan Burns, Kerrville Pets Alive! “He wasn’t feral, just a lost soul in pain, yearning for a touch of kindness.”

Bubba gets along with other cats but the shelter isn’t sure about dogs. You can always schedule a “meet and greet” to see how he would react. More than likely, with enough patience and a slow introduction, he would be okay.

“Bubba is a total ham, always stealing the spotlight with his quirky antics and playful spirit,” said Susan. “Even with three legs, he bounces through life with boundless energy and charm.”

Shelter staff believe a calm home would be best, so probably no small kids around.

Bubba will need to be an indoor only cat, because he only has three legs now. He would definitely like to have a home with someone who has a warm lap for him to curl up on.

He loves getting petted and being given treats.

“Beneath his silly exterior lies a heart full of love and gratitude,” said Susan. “Bubba’s unique personality makes him impossible not to adore.”

He has already been neutered and is current on all of vaccinations.

“Though he lost his leg, he gained a new beginning and a heart overflowing with gratitude,” said Susan. “Bubba will never forget the compassion that saved him.”
