Twin brothers in Texas foster care need to find a forever family together

Christian and Christopher love being active and would thrive with high-energy parents.

AUSTIN, Texas — Every week on KVUE Daybreak, we feature children in Texas foster care with the hope of helping them find a permanent place to call home. This week, the spotlight is on two affectionate brothers: 7-year-old twins Christian and Christopher, who are bound to put a smile on anyone’s face.

At the Austin Ninjas gym in Cedar Park, the obstacles are high and the warped wall is steep, but Christian and Christopher handled it all with boundless energy. Moving almost as one, the brothers spent a recent morning tackling the course, proving that they are always up for a new adventure.

Boundless energy and big hearts

Whether they are sprinting through an obstacle course or playing their favorite sports – soccer and basketball – Christian and Christopher are a duo defined by movement. Alyx Valdez, who runs the youth program at Austin Ninjas, helped the boys navigate the gym, noting their natural athletic ability.

But beneath the high energy is a pair of kind-hearted boys who want to make a difference in the world around them. When asked how they like to spread love and happiness to others, their answers were simple and sweet.

“Give hugs,” they said. “Give hugs and clean the community.”

Life at school and home

While they thrive on the playground, the twins are also focused in the classroom. Both brothers shared that math is their favorite subject in school.

When it comes to refueling after a long day of sports and schoolwork, their tastes are a mix of classic kid favorites and surprisingly healthy choices. Their top picks? Cereal and vegetables.

Finding the right match

Christian and Christopher are currently in Texas foster care and are searching for a forever home where they can stay together.

Their caseworker emphasizes that the ideal environment for the twins would be with high-energy parents who can keep up with their active lifestyle and provide the focused love and attention they deserve.

KVUE launched the Forever Families segment with Partnerships for Children (PFC) in June 2020 to highlight children in the Heart Gallery of Central Texas who need secure and permanent families. Every day, there are nearly 1,000 children waiting to get adopted in Central Texas, according to PFC.

Editor’s noteThe children who are in the Heart Gallery program and featured in KVUE’s Forever Families segments are children who have had every effort made on their behalf to connect them with family or others in their community to provide options for permanent, adoptive homes. Through no fault of their own, that hasn’t happened yet, and so in partnership with the Department of Family and Protective Services, we collaborate to bring awareness to KVUE viewers about these children in the hopes of finding them permanency before they age out.
