SAN ANTONIO — A crash involving two 18-wheelers on the east side prompted multiple lanes along the highway to be shutdown Tuesday morning after both tractor-trailers were heavily damaged, according to authorities.
Officer Steven Flores, a traffic officer on scene, said the collision was reported around 10:36 a.m. along Loop 410 North at Rigsby Avenue. Investigators believe one 18-wheeler struck the other from behind.
Both trailers were carrying vehicle parts, which Flores described as “very difficult to offload,” slowing cleanup efforts. No injuries were reported and no passenger vehicles were involved.
Traffic was reduced to one lane as crews worked to clear the roadway. Flores said the affected lanes were expected to remain closed for four to five additional hours.
Neither of the drivers are expected to face any citations, according to officials.
