Two bodies found at local park after an AMBER Alert was issued for missing mother and son

Kaiden Kriger was last seen around 2 p.m. on Monday wearing a black jacket and Spiderman t-shirt, with a Spiderman mask/hoodie attached.

SAN ANTONIO — Authorities have located two bodies in a ditch at Tom Slick Park that are believed to be a 3-year-old and mother who were the subject of Monday’s AMBER Alert.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office was called out to Dovers Den for a welfare check but were not able to get into the home and noticed that Savannah Kriger’s vehicle was not at the home. With the help of a family member, authorities were able to gain access to the home and reportedly found concerning evidence in the home that led them to believe the child and mother were in danger.

Officials say that that Kriger left work early to pick the 3-year-old up at his daycare and take him to a doctor’s appointment. Her white 2023 Lincoln Aviator was later found abandoned at Tom Slick Park off State Highway 151 East.

Overnight, investigators were not able to locate the mother or child. But on Tuesday morning, park police continued the search and found two bodies located near a ditch and believe it could be the mother and child but did not confirm.

Authorities said it appears that gun shots could’ve been fire as a gun was recovered from the scene.

This case is now being investigated as a murder suicide and there are no outstanding suspects at this time.

Officials added that they believe there had been an ongoing custody battle for the child between the mother and father and a hearing for the custody of the child was scheduled for today, Tuesday, March 19.

The father is on the scene and reportedly cooperating with authorities.

This is an ongoing investigation and KENS 5 will update this story as more information becomes available.
