SAN ANTONIO — The Precinct 3 Constable’s office shot two dogs while serving an eviction notice at an apartment complex Monday morning.
The officers were serving the notice at the Tuscany Park apartments in the 1200 block of Patricia near Castle Hills around 9 a.m.
Officials say one officer approached the entrance to the apartment and first noticed a large pitbull in a cage and started to enter. That’s when he saw a second pit bull charging at him and shut the door. He called for assistance to help him as someone in the apartment barricaded themselves inside.
When other officers got there, they used a ram to open the door and found both dogs had been let out of the cage. Officials say the first dog started attacking an officers leg and was Tased. The second dog was also Tased.
At some point, the pit bulls resumed attacking the officers and both were shot and killed.
The person inside the apartment managed to get out of the rear door and took off from the location. No one has been charged.
