The fatal wreck happened at about 11:30 p.m. on Farm-to-Market Road 92, near the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 1122.
SILSBEE, Texas — Two former Buna High School teens died in a wreck involving a tow truck and passenger car near Silsbee late Thursday night.
The wreck happened when a Honda Accord driven by Riley Ard, 18, of Buna, failed to yield to a northbound tow truck while pulling out of a gas station parking lot in Hardin County, according to news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Ard died at the accident scene and their passenger, Tracyn Brady, 18, of Orangefield was taken to a Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont where he later died according to the DPS.
Buna ISD will have counselors available for students and staff until Tuesday, August 5.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates the Honda Accord pulled from the gas station parking lot into the path of the northbound tow truck, resulting in the collision.


The extent of any injuries to the tow truck driver remains unknown.
DPS troopers continue to investigate the crash. No additional information is available at this time.

“This morning, we received the heartbreaking news about the loss of two of our former BHS students who tragically passed away. Our counselors will be available today until 5:00 PM, again tomorrow morning from 8-11AM, and from 8-12 daily, Monday-Tuesday of next week – all at the BHS. The best thing about Buna is that we take care of each other even when it’s hard, and this time is no different. So many prayers for all who loved these two young men.
