Two hit by driver who failed to stop, sending one to hospital, police say

It happened early Monday morning near downtown San Antonio.

SAN ANTONIO — Two people were hit by a driver in the downtown area early this morning who didn’t stop to render aid, sending one of them to the hospital.

San Antonio police responded to the 400 block of Austin Street just northeast of the downtown area around 2:10 a.m. for reports of an accident involving two pedestrians.

When officers arrived at the location they found two people had been hit by the driver of a black Jeep who failed to stop and help them. They were walking back from a bar when the accident occurred.

The woman was checked out by EMS at the scene, but the man was taken to University Hospital with an injury to his arm.

Police are still looking for the driver.

This is a developing story.
