Two men arrested in Guadalupe County drug bust

Deputies say they found six kilos of cocaine hidden in a cooler during a traffic stop.

GUADALUPE COUNTY, Texas — Two men are behind bars after deputies say they found six kilograms of cocaine during a traffic stop in Guadalupe County.

The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that with increased patrols and better investigative strategies, they’ve seized more narcotics this year than in previous years.

Deputies seized the six kilograms of cocaine during a traffic stop Thursday around 6:30 p.m. on a pickup heading east on I-10 near mile marker 617.

The two men inside the truck were arrested. Deputies say they found the coke in a cooler.

Both men are being held in the Guadalupe County Adult Detention Center.

The stats shared on Facebook show how new tactics are working.

In 2025, the sheriff’s department has seized 153 kilograms of narcotics, compared to just 66 in 2024.

Another significant number is the cash value of drugs seized in 2025. Right now it’s at $6.M versus $3.1M in 2024 and we still have three months to go in the year.

They’ve also made 56 sexual predator arrests so far this year.

The sheriff says their proactive efforts versus reactive way of doing things in the past is clearly improving everyone’s lives, except the bad guys.
