Two men arrested in January double-homicide in far west Bexar County

Sheriff Javier Salazar said multiple law enforcement agencies pitched in to help track down the suspects, who are believed to be brothers.

SAN ANTONIO — Two men who Sheriff Javier Salazar called “very dangerous” have been arrested in a January double-homicide in far west Bexar County stemming from a potential romantic dispute.

Nickolas “Blue” Lopez, 49, was arrested Friday in Bexar County while Alfred “Krueger” Lopez, 54, was taken into custody Monday in Corpus Christ. Salazar said they’re responsible for killing 24-year-old Xavier Alvarez and 39-year-old Janell Lopez on Jan. 6 along the 6000 block of Calle Fincias, where investigators believe the victims were lured. Officers found their bodies when they responded to the scene.

Salazar cited several local and state law enforcement agencies who helped investigate and arrest the suspects, who are believed to be brothers.

“Texas law enforcement will chase you to the ends of the earth if need be,” he said. “We’ll certainly go across the state if we have to.”

Both are being charged with murder, while Nickolas Lopez was also charged with drug possession and tampering with evidence. Nickolas is being held on a $1 million bond, according to online court records.
