Two men arrested in New Braunfels after alleged assault on Texas state trooper

SAN ANTONIO — Two men are accused of assaulting a Texas state trooper near a New Braunfels middle school. One of those men remained on the run until he was arrested mid-morning Saturday.

The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened near South Walnut Street and Divine Way, close to New Braunfels Middle School. Deputies say at least two suspects initially fled the scene on foot, triggering a response involving both the sheriff’s office and the New Braunfels Police Department.

Law enforcement officials significantly increased patrols in the area as the search was underway for the second suspect. Residents were urged to avoid the immediate vicinity while officers worked to locate the suspect.
