Two men facing charges after brawl at youth football game, police say

New documents say the brawl started when the victim poked fun at a player on social media.

SAN ANTONIO — Two men are facing charges after a fight over youth football turned violent in Converse.

New documents say the brawl started when the victim poked fun at a player on social media and it ended with him being held at gunpoint in front of his wife.

According to an arrest affidavit, the victim’s pregnant wife got on top of her husband to protect him. That’s when both men left, ending the violent fight between the three guys in Converse City Park.

The victim’s wife caught this all on cell phone video and handed it over to San Antonio Police.

Documents say the fight started over the youth football team their children are on. It escalated when the victim allegedly posted about one the men’s sons on social media.

That’s when they decided to meet at the park to discuss their differences but it got bad.

The affidavit says both men, Je Quan and Jeaion Mcbride, restrained the victim by his car and beat him up. When the victim tried to get into his car to escape, the brothers noticed a gun in the victim’s vehicle.

That’s when they threw the victim to the ground, grabbed the gun and held him at gunpoint. At that point, the victim’s wife continued recording the fight and intervened.

Both men were arrested as a result.

They are now charged with unlawful restraint, a felony offense.
