Two people and their cat made it out of their home safely after fire spread, fire officials say

Firefighters say the fire began in their garage, then spread into their home.

SAN ANTONIO — A couple and their cat managed to escape their burning home early Wednesday morning, firefighters say.

Kriby Fire Department firefighters responded to the 5400 block of Eclipse Street in Kirby around 1:45 a.m. for reports of a fire.

Firefighters say the fire began in their garage, then quickly spread into their home. No one was injured in the fire.

No estimate on the dollar amount of the damage caused, but the home is expected to be a total loss.

The cause is under investigation.
