That driver fled from the scene following the crash.

SAN ANTONIO — Two people were critically injured when the car they were in was hit from behind by a driver who did not stop, police say.

It happened around 11 p.m. Saturday in the 4300 block of I-35 North near BAMC.

Police say the two victims were the driver and passenger of a white 2024 Nissan Sentra that was rear-ended by the driver of a red 2008 GMC Sierra that was speeding.

The driver, a 57-year-old man, and his passenger, a woman between 30 and 40 years old, were both taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

After the crash, the unknown driver of the GMC fled from the location without rendering reasonable aid to the victims.

The driver of the GMC will face two counts of Collision Involving Serious Bodily Injury when found, police say.

This case remains under investigation.
