Two schools placed in lockdown as police respond to active scene nearby, Schertz police says

SAN ANTONIO — Two schools are in lockdown status as a multiple police vehicles have responded to a scene nearby on the northeast side Tuesday afternoon, according to Schertz Police. 

Officials say the police are working the scene at IH 35 and FM 1103 around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Sippel Elementary School and The School of Science and Technology have entered into a lockdown status as a precaution, according to police. 

Officials say to use caution while traveling in the area and to be patient while picking up children from those two campuses.
