Two teens shot in Schertz; Police searching for suspects

Both victims were taken to BAMC for treatment.

SCHERTZ, Texas — Two 17-year-old boys were shot just after midnight Wednesday in Schertz, and investigators believe the violence was not random.

Police responded to the 2100 block of Redbud Way shortly after 12 a.m., where they found both teens suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency crews began life-saving measures at the scene before transporting the victims to BAMC for treatment.

According to authorities, one teen was listed in stable condition, while the other remained in serious condition.

Residents in the area described a chaotic scene.

“I didn’t move to Schertz so there could be shootings,” one neighbor said. “We moved to Schertz because Schertz is a pretty safe place to live.”

Another resident said several people were seen running through the neighborhood immediately after the gunfire.

“There was a bunch of people running through the trailer park, in front of our house and stuff. It was pretty insane,” the neighbor said. “It’s sad. We live in a negative world. Kids can’t be kids nowadays.”

Investigators with the Schertz Police Department said they are searching for a white four-door sedan and a black SUV that left the area immediately after the shooting.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the department at 210-619-1200.

The investigation remains ongoing.
