Two Waco friends change golf game with 24/7 virtual simulator, honoring late father

A pair of Waco golfers are revolutionizing local golf with “Digi Golf Club,” allowing players to enjoy global courses virtually.

WACO, Texas — Preston Granger and Corey Ray opened “Digi Golf Club” on April 4th, a virtual golf simulator that allows enthusiasts to play courses from around the world regardless of weather conditions or time constraints.

“I play golf a couple times a year and I really want to get better, but I’ve got four kids and I don’t have time,” Granger explained.

This frustration led to him wanting to create an easier way for golfers to hit the fairways.

He brought the idea to his business partner as no other indoor golf courses are in the Waco area

“It’s been incredible to see a dream come to fruition,” said Granger.

For Ray, the business represents more than an entrepreneurial endeavor — it’s a connection to cherished memories with his late father, who passed away in 2022.

“The other day, I was looking at it and just thinking what would it be like if my dad were still here,” Ray said. “The ability to play golf with my dad again on this thing, I think we would have had an incredible time.”

The business partners take pride in seeing their facility foster relationships similar to the one Ray shared with his father.

“He always wanted to play St. Andrews, the old course. There are other courses that he always wanted to play but he could never get there to play them, and they’re right here at Digi,” Ray said of his father.

The simulator, which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, is currently the only facility of its kind in Waco.
