Authorities arrest two women in Karnes County for operating an illegal gambling business.

SAN ANTONIO — Two women are accused of operating an illegal gambling business in Karnes County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Savannah Rosales and Roxann Reyes were taken into custody Saturday for multiple offenses, including Gambling Promotion, Keeping a Gambling Place and Possession of Gambling Device, Equipment, or Paraphernalia.

Authorities say several agencies, including the Karnes County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, Patrol Division, and the Texas DPS Highway Patrol Division executed warrants at a suspected illegal game room on the 9000 block of U.S. Highway 181 South.

Rosales and Reyes were detained at the location and authorities seized various forms of illegal gambling equipment. The owner of the property was notified that if the illegal game room continued to be in operation it could lead to a seizure of the entire property.

Gambling in this manner is illegal by Texas laws as well as violates a Karnes County ordinance enacted by the Karnes County Commissioner’s Court.
