TxDOT increases patrols to curb Spring Break drunk driving incidents

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — TxDOT is working to increase patrols on roadways starting this weekend to ensure drivers stay safe and responsible during spring break.

In 2023, more than half of alcohol-related crashes over the holiday involved drivers aged 17 to 30, resulting in 375 crashes.

With increased patrols, DPS aims to reduce drunk driving and ensure safer roads throughout Spring Break.
