SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio law firm is teaming up with Mothers Against Drunk Driving to make streets safer for what’s expected to be a fun-filled, busy holiday weekend.
“Halloween remains one of the most dangerous nights of the year for impaired driving. Every choice not to drive impaired can mean the difference between life and death,” said Carla O’Neal, Area Executive Director for MADD South/Central Texas.
In 2023, 29% of fatal car crashes on Halloween involved impaired drivers, according to the latest data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Studies also show that pedestrian deaths increase by 43% on Halloween compared to other nights. The risk is particularly high for children ages 4 to 8.
Hilley & Solis Law, P.L.L.C. is offering free Uber rides worth $20 from October 31 through November 2.
“As dads ourselves, we know how important it is to make sure everyone gets home safely,” added Carlos Solis, Hilley & Solis Law Partner. “We’re proud to stand alongside MADD — together we can drive meaningful change and save lives.”

“Halloween is a time for memories, not tragedies. We chose to donate $9,999.99 in Uber® ride vouchers because it ties to our phone number, 210.999.9999.” said Derek Hilley, partner of Hilley & Solis Law.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nearly 30% of fatal crashes on Halloween involve impaired drivers.
