For those who live or work (or both) on the University of Texas at Austin campus, H-E-B can now help when the craving for Whataburger Honey Butter or hatch green chile queso hits.
On Tuesday, January 24, UT Austin announced that students, faculty, and staff can order H-E-B delivery to campus through a new partnership. Same-day delivery and time and location delivery scheduling will be available through Favor, the delivery company acquired by H-E-B in 2018.
“Being able to offer this service is a great resource for students who don’t have time to shop or who don’t have transportation beyond campus, helping them easily access the groceries and supplies they need,” said Soncia Reagins-Lilly, vice president for student affairs and dean of students, in a release.
Parking on campus can be an arduous task, so Favor drivers will park in one of four designated locations: Jester Circle, the Jester dormitory, Kinsolving dorm, or at Bass Concert Hall. Purchasers will then coordinate with the driver on an exact pickup spot on campus.
H-E-B is making all items that are normally available through its website or its app accessibly to UT Austin students, including meats, fresh produce, household (or dorm-hold) items, health and wellness items, and more.
Over the years, H-E-B has donated more than $6.6 million to UT Austin research and other programs.
“H-E-B has been a proud sponsor of UT academic programs and research since 1976 and is fortunate to have hundreds of Longhorns that work in our company today,” said Laura Estes, Central Texas marketing director for H-E-B. “Through the years, our partnership has become a source of pride for both organizations. In this spirit, we’ve launched on-campus H-E-B delivery to the University of Texas at Austin community. As a former Longhorn, I hope this added perk becomes a widely used convenience for all students.”
