Unko Maui’s in the Deco District faces a lockout due to alleged default, leaving its future uncertain and impacting local dining options.
SAN ANTONIO — Popular Deco District eatery Unko Maui’s appears closed as a lockout notice was posted on the door of the restaurant by the landlord.
As of Wednesday, a sign posted on the door of the restaurant said, “Lockout notice from BIODEC, LLC,” stating that the tenant is in default. The restaurant appeared closed and locked.
Google lists Unko Maui’s at 1815 Fredericksburg Road as temporarily closed, likely due to reports from users.
The restaurant is owned by the same owners as Maui on Main, which serves Hawaiian food favorites. Unko Maui’s opened last year with a menu focusing mainly on burgers, hot dogs, fries and appetizers.
KENS 5 reached out to the restaurant via social media for more information but has not yet received a response.
