Update: Missing 66-year-old man found after going missing in South Austin

A Silver Alert for Douglas Wendall has also been discontinued after he was located Thursday morning, according to the Austin Police Department.

AUSTIN, Texas — A 66-year-old man has been found as of March 28 after going missing Tuesday afternoon in South Austin. 

Earlier this week, a Silver Alert was issued for Douglas Wendall, who is diagnosed with a cognitive impairment. 

At approximately 5:30 a.m. Thursday, the Silver Alert has been discontinued. 

The Austin Police Department stated that before he went missing, Wendall was previously seen on foot at 12:50 p.m. at the West Oaks nursing home, located at 3200 Slaughter Lane.

He is described as a white man who was 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 190 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and gray sweatpants.

Law enforcement believed his disappearance posed a credible threat to his own health and safety.
