USAA was at the top of the list for cheapest car insurance for good drivers with the average cost per month of $114, which comes out to an average yearly cost of $1,364. That is $662 cheaper than other national companies like Nationwide, which came in just under USAA on the list.
The insurance company was also listed as the cheapest for drivers who recently received a speeding ticket, being $872 cheaper than other national insurers. USAA is also listed as the cheapest car insurance for drivers who were recently in an accident that caused injury, being $1,051 cheaper that other insurers.
Forbes does point out one caveat to USAA being on the top, the insurance is only available to active military service members, veterans and their families. Even so, the company places at the top, if not in the second position, on other lists for drivers with continuous DUIs, young drivers, teen drivers and drivers with bad credit.
