UT vs. Texas A&M: These players suiting up Friday are from the San Antonio area

The highly anticipated SEC football matchup kicks off 6:30 p.m. on ESPN.

SAN ANTONIO — Sporting a combined record of 19-3 and College Football Playoff aspirations, there’s plenty at stake when the Texas A&M Aggies (11-0) and Texas Longhorns (8-3) face off in Austin on Friday evening. 

Of course, nothing matters more than the opportunity to win Lone Star State bragging rights. 

The game gets underway at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN, with both SEC squads featuring plenty of gridiron products from San Antonio and the surrounding area. Here’s a rundown of who they are. 

Texas

Trey Moore: Senior linebacker who transferred to Texas from UTSA before the 2024 season and has collected 21 solo tackles and three sacks in 11 games this year. 

Michael Terry: Freshman wide receiver/running back who played for Alamo Heights High School.

Rett Andersen: Junior wide receiver who suited up for Alamo Heights High School and has appeared in four games for the Longhorns this year.

McCoy Bruce: A redshirt freshman defensive back who hails from Boerne and joined the Longhorns as a walk-on. 

Brooks Kieschenick Jr.: Junior offensive lineman who played for Alamo Heights High School, where he helped lead the team to two straight undefeated district titles. 

Texas A&M 

Dalton Brooks: Junior safety from Shiner who has a 48-yard rush (against Missouri on Nov. 8) to go along with 42 tackles and an interception for the Aggies this year. 

Myles Davis: Sophomore safety who played for Judson High School and recorded four tackles in the Aggies’ most recent win over Samford. 

Tommy Colligan: Junior linebacker from San Antonio, where he played for Alamo Heights High School. 

Aidan Herrera: Junior linebacker from San Antonio, where he played for Reagan High School. 

William Huntsinger: Junior offensive lineman who suited up for Johnson High School in the Alamo City. 

Jared Zirkel: A graduate student kicker from Kerrville who previously spent three seasons at Georgia. Has registered 18 touchbacks on 30 kickoffs this year, and also has made three of four field goal attempts for the Aggies in 2025.
