UTSA and Jumex are making NCAA history. Yes, you read that right.

The new sponsorship deal was announced Wednesday.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio’s premiere college athletics brand and Mexico’s premiere juice brand are teaming up for a sponsorship deal, squeezing out some NCAA history in the process.

UTSA Athletics announced that Jumex is the department’s official sponsor going forward, “making it the first Mexican brand ever to sponsor an NCAA Division I athletics program.” It’s an appropriate collaboration for San Antonio, considered by many to be the center of Mexican American culture in the U.S.

The sponsorship deal runs for the duration of the 2025-26 school year.

“For more than 40 years, we’ve brought beloved Hispanic products into homes across the U.S.,” said Edgar Ramos of San Antonio-headquartered Vilore Foods, which distributes Jumex stateside, in a statement. This partnership marks another meaningful chapter in this journey. It’s not just about our sponsorship, it’s a powerful step in celebrating our Hispanic heritage.”

Jumex will have a bigger presence at UTSA sporting events as a result of the sponsorship, including at the Alamodome. Starting with Roadrunner football’s Sept. 6 opener against Texas State, UTSA is touting themed tailgate experiences and “product sampling booths,” as well as prominent Jumex branding throughout the stadium.

A key element of the sponsorship: Jumex’s new Hydrolit +Advance drink, which will be advertised as the “performance beverage of choice for UTSA fans.”

Yes, it comes in mango flavor.
