The Roadrunners got out of a bases-loaded jam after executing a crucial double play that would’ve scored at least one run if it had gotten through.
UCLA joined the fun in the third inning when Mulivai Levu hit an RBI double to the wall before the very next batter hit into a sacrifice ground ball to tie the game 2-2.
In the bottom of the fourth, UTSA found themselves in another bases-loaded situation but the Bruins were able to capitalize this time on an RBI sac-fly to left field, giving UCLA their first lead of the game heading into the fifth up 3-2.
It was a quiet few innings until UCLA’s Roman Martin hit a bases-clearing triple in the bottom of the eighth that extended the Bruins lead to 5-2
