UTSA offering support to campus following Sixth Street shooting in Austin

​Here in San Antonio, UTSA is providing a list of support and wellbeing resources as the tragic event is affecting many students and families in the UT system.

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA is offering well-being resources to students and staff after the deadly Austin shooting on Sixth Street early Sunday morning.

University of Texas President Jim Davis confirmed that UT students were among those impacted in the mass shooting at Buford’s bar.

“Our prayers are with the victims and all those impacted, including members of our Longhorn family, and my heart goes out to their families, friends, classmates, professors, and loved ones,” Davis said.

Here in San Antonio, UTSA is providing a list of support and wellbeing resources as the tragic event is affecting many students and families in the UT system.

For students, UTSA is offering Wellness 360 Counseling Services or the Crisis Help Line for mental health support,Wellbeing Services, Timely Care that app offers on-demand support for students, International Students | Global Initiatives services for International Students and Student Assistance Services that helps students navigate academic and personal challenges.

For employees, UTSA is offering free and confidential access to the Employee Assistance Program, including a Helpline, as well as additional support services. There is also On Campus Counseling Services and Rental Health and Wellness Resources for Employees (website).
