SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will be holding two events for the community to come together and reflect those lost in the Hill Country flooding tragedy, according to UTSA Today.

The university is set to honor Dr. Katheryn Eads, senior lecturer in the Department of Psychology, Reese Manchaca, an architecture student in the Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design, and Ella Cahill, a management student in the Alvarez College of Business, all of whom are victims of the flooding.

A virtual moment of reflection is set to take place at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9.

An on-campus reflection is set to also be held on Friday, July 11.

“It is important for us have the opportunity to gather as a UTSA community to reflect on this devastating tragedy, pay tribute to the lives and contributions of those we’ve lost, and process the overwhelming news that has so greatly impacted our campuses,” said LT Robinson, senior vice provost for student affairs and dean of students. “Let us also draw strength from one another. Together, we can begin the healing and provide the comfort and support that is so important during these challenging times.”

In addition, the Monument Lights and Student Union lights on the main campus will glow white.
