Valero Texas Open looks to compliment Final Four weekend in San Antonio

The PGA Tour offers college basketball fans another sports option during Final Four weekend in the Alamo City.

SAN ANTONIO — Are you ready for the one of the busiest sports weeks in recent San Antonio memory? The Final Four! The Valero Texas Open! Spurs! Missions! You have options the week of Monday, March 31 through Monday, April 7.

“I think our ticket sales are trending really well,” said Valero Texas Open Executive Director Larson Segerdahl. “And that number continues to go up every time we announce a new player whether is it Rickie Fowler or Justin Rose. We see that spike immediately on our ticket sales. The community is getting excited.”

The annual Valero Texas Open and the Final Four are going to put San Antonio right in the middle of the sports universe as the March calendar flips into April. And it’s not about the two major events competing against each other. It’s more about working alongside.

The week is an amazing opportunity for Alamo City sports fans.

“This is really an incredible opportunity,” said Segerdahl. “This is really going to be the epicenter of the entire sports world. This is a sports fan’s dream for what will be happening in San Antonio. This is not competitive, but how can we compliment each other.”

Segerdahl noted that with Final Four games playing on Saturday and Monday, that coming to the Valero Texas Open on Friday and Sunday would be the perfect landing spot for college basketball fans when games aren’t played Friday and Sunday.

“Come on out to TPC San Antonio and enjoy this incredible atmosphere and see some of the world’s best golfers,” he said. “San Antonio is going to own network television. No matter what people tune into they are going to see San Antonio, and that is really exciting for our city.”

The 2025 Valero Texas open will play out April 3-6 at TPC San Antonio.
