
UPDATE: 2:15 p.m., October 9: The collision causing traffic delays near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport was cleared by 11:45 a.m., the airport shared in a post on X. The airport reminded travelers to keep checking flight statuses before arriving at the airport, but also warned that Friday, October 10, is slated to be a busy travel day.
“High Passenger Volume Alert: AUS expects more than 35,000 departing passengers to travel through the airport tomorrow, October 10,” AUS wrote on X. “Please arrive at least 2.5 hours early for domestic flights, 3 for international.”
Texans traveling to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on Thursday, October 9, may need to find alternative routes. A crash near the Austin airport is reportedly “causing significant traffic congestion” and delays.
It’s unclear how long delays may last, but AUS encouraged passengers to “allow for extra time when planning their commute” Thursday morning. AUS posted a traffic alert about the motor vehicle collision on X.
