
Police say the incident occurred in the 3200 block of Park Hills Drive.
AUSTIN, Texas — A vehicle theft in Rollingwood led to a shelter-in-place order being issued Saturday morning.
According to the Rollingwood Police Department, an officer responded to gunshots heard in the vicinity of the 3200 block of Park Hills Drive at around 3:45 a.m. Upon arrival, the officer determined that the gunshots came as the result of a vehicle theft that had taken place.
Officers with the West Lake Hills Police Department, Austin Police Department and Travis County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rollingwood police in searching the area for the suspect, but were unsuccessful in locating them. The stolen vehicle, however, was recovered.
The order was lifted before noon Saturday. No injuries were reported due to the incident, and police say there is no ongoing threat to the public and the investigation is still active.
