SAN ANTONIO — The is honoring all veterans and all active-duty, reserve, and guard service members with a free way to enjoy one of the newest features of Alamo Plaza on Veterans Day.
Tuesday, November 11, veterans and all active-duty, reserve, and guard service members will receive free admission to the Alamo Exhibit at the Ralston Family Collections Center, plus free admission for one guest.
Staff at the Alamo hope this can serve as a reminder of the rich history shared with the U.S. military including the Army calling the Alamo home from 1845 to 1877. The Church and the grounds served as a quartermaster depot. The Army even contributed the Alamo’s iconic arch as part of a roof addition. That shape is now recognized around the world.
In addition to the world-class artifacts and history included in the exhibit, guests can also see the infamous Pee Wee Herman bike from the movie Pee Wee’s Big Adventure in 1985. The piece of movie history is now a permanent part of the collection.
The free admission applies to Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
