VIA offering Park & Ride service for Valero Alamo Bowl

Fans headed to the Valero Alamo Bowl can skip the parking hassle with VIA’s Park & Ride service, ensuring a smooth, affordable trip downtown.

SAN ANTONIO — Fans looking to avoid the hassle of parking at the Alamodome for the Valero Alamo Bowl can leave the car behind and take the bus.

VIA Metropolitan Transit is offering Park & Ride service from four locations across town on Tuesday, Dec. 30, helping fans avoid traffic and all of the hassles associated with parking downtown ahead of kickoff.

Park & Ride service to the Alamodome will begin at 5 p.m., three hours before the game, with return service running for one hour after the final whistle.

Fans can park for free at one of the following locations and ride to the game for just $2.60 round trip:

  • Brooks Transit Center Auxiliary Lot (3026 Sidney Brooks Drive)

  • Crossroads Park & Ride (151 Crossroads Blvd.)

  • Frost Bank Center, Lot 1 (1 Frost Bank Center)

  • Stone Oak Park & Ride (22139 U.S. Highway 281 North)

Reduced fares are available for students, military members, and other qualifying riders.

VIA says customers have multiple payment options, including purchasing passes at Park & Ride locations, using the goMobile+ app, or paying with cash or credit cards on site.

With thousands of fans expected downtown for the annual bowl game, VIA officials say the service offers a convenient and affordable way to get in and out of the Alamodome.
