SAN ANTONIO — A person died Tuesday after collapsing shortly after exiting a VIA Metropolitan Transit bus, according to officials.
A spokesperson for VIA said the incident happened around 10 a.m. at the bus stop located near the intersection of Ingram Road and Wurzbach Road near Ingram Park Mall.
The rider got off a bus and collapsed soon after, according to VIA.
VIA officials said the agency notified the San Antonio Police Department, which responded to the scene. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office also arrived and later pronounced the individual dead.
Authorities have not released the person’s identity. Officials did not provide details about the cause of death.
