Temple PD said the person died at the scene after reportedly striking a tree.
TEMPLE, Texas — The Temple Police Department is investigating a crash that killed one person near SE HK Dodgen Loop on Sunday.
Police have since identified the person killed as 33-year-old Cynthia Edith Rodriguez of Rogers, TX.
According to Temple PD, the driver was speeding on the southbound side of HK Dodgen Loop and crashed into a tree after crossing onto the northbound lanes.
Law enforcement was called to the 21000 block of SE HK Dodgen Loop at 1:18 a.m. Officers became aware of the high-speed driver and located the crash. Rodriguez was pronounced dead on the scene by Justice of the Peace Fisher, according to Temple PD.
No other injuries have been reported at this time.
