SAN ANTONIO — From one Rookie of the Year winner to another, San Antonio Spurs‘ Victor Wembanyama chatted about receiving the honor with Stephon Castle, the new Rookie of the Year.
Wemby asked Castle about his experience with UConn, how that helped him transition into the NBA, and when he knew his teammate would be the top rookie in his draft class.
“Me? Knowing you were going to win it was in the preseason when after a few games you told me the game was starting to slow down,” Wemby said to Castle.

KELDON JOHNSON HOSTING A BASKETBALL CAMP IN LAREDO
Spurs’ Keldon Johnson is returning to Laredo, TX, this offseason and is hosting a basketball camp for young athletes.
Johnson’s “Ballin’ on the Rio Vol. 2” camp, presented by Border City Hoops, will be on Saturday, May 24th, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Border City Sportsplex at 8428 Springfield Ave., 78045.
Campers will experience live drills, receive exclusive gear, autographs, one-on-one time with coaches and be a part of the hoops culture that Keldon brings.
