SAN ANTONIO — The NBA has named Victor Wembanyama the Kia Western Defensive Player of the Month for the games played in January.
Wembanyama ranked second in blocks (2.2 per game) and defensive rebounds (8.2 per game) all while also leading the Spurs to the second best defensive rating (108.1) for the month of January.
Ausar Thompson, the twin brother of Houston Rockets’ Amen Thompson, was named the defensive player of the month for the Eastern Conference.
