SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama continues his world tour, and this time, he made a stop in China to visit a Shaolin monk temple, taking it one step further.
He shaved his head!
A photo was taken of him visiting monks with a completely shaved head, dressed in traditional monk robes.
Before he met with the monks, he was given a hero’s welcome, during which he visited the Beijing Ducks basketball club’s gym and was surrounded by children after finishing his workout.
So far this offseason, Wemby has made a stop in Costa Rica and toured the Great Wall of China.
SPURS EYEING MAVS ASSISTANT COACH
According to a report from Marc Stein, the Spurs have expressed interest in Dallas assistant coach Sean Sweeney to add to their coaching roster.
“League sources tell The Stein Line that the San Antonio Spurs, furthermore, have expressed strong interest in trying to hire Sweeney away from Dallas to work alongside new Spurs full-time head coach Mitch Johnson.”
Sweeny served as an assistant coach with the Pistons and Milwaukee before landing in Dallas. With the Nets, he served as video coordinator before being named assistant coach for the 2013-14 season. He’s been with Dallas since 2021.
