Victor Wembanyama’s jersey swap with young Spurs fan sells for $73,000

The Wemby jersey was sold for top dollar at an auction. 💰

SAN ANTONIO — Following the Spurs’ road win over the Nets in December 2024, a young San Antonio Spurs fan was eager to swap jerseys with Victor Wembanyama, and the French big man obliged.

The moment went viral, showing the young fan holding a gigantic Wemby City Edition jersey while the Spurs center held up the tiny uniform.

However, a few weeks after that moment, that jersey was listed on Goldin Auction House, with a starting bid of $10,000, and Wemby reacted to that news with a crying emoji once he discovered what had happened to that jersey.

Fast forward several weeks and bids, the jersey has been sold for a whopping $73,000.

Wemby certainly takes time out to interact with fans, and this jersey moment wasn’t his first.

At a home game this season, one young fan, River Castillo, somehow made his way onto the court to chase down Wembanyama, hoping he would get an autograph from the team’s star.

However, Castillo got a better surprise than an autograph: Wemby’s game-worn jersey.
