Vince Vaughn makes a surprise appearance in Dallas

The actor was pictured in an SMU basketball T-shirt at Moody Coliseum.

DALLAS — Actor Vince Vaughn may be better known for crashing weddings on screen in “Wedding Crashers” and more for dodgeball than basketball. But this week, he crashed a youth summer basketball camp at SMU.

SMU head men’s basketball coach Andy Enfield shared photos of Vaughn’s visit on social media, with the actor donning an SMU basketball T-shirt.

“You never know who will crash basketball camp!” Enfield wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

The second of three sessions of basketball camp for students in first through seventh grades this summer held at Moody Coliseum and the Crum Basketball Center ends tomorrow. The third session runs July 28-31, according to SMU’s website.

It’s unclear why Vaughn was in town, but before Enfield became SMU’s head men’s basketball coach last year, he spent 11 seasons as coach at the University of Southern California (USC).

In his first season on the Hilltop, SMU’s first in the Atlantic Coast Conference, Enfield led the Mustangs to a 24-11 overall record and earned a No. 1 seed in the NIT.
