Visitation House Ministries lends a helping hand to local mothers

SAN ANTONIO — SAN ANTONIO, Texas—Serving the community for nearly 40 years, Visitation House Ministries lends a helping hand to local mothers, empowering them to rise above challenging circumstances.

Visitation House Ministries is a transitional housing program for women with children.

Most of the families have experienced homelessness, according to Andrea Hofstetter, Executive Director of Visitation House Ministries.

Hofstetter said the non-profit organization’s goal is to empower mothers and help them become self-sufficient.

“We provide very intense case management for the moms,” said Hofstetter. “So we look at everything that, that mom has been through from their past traumas to currently where they’re at. All the women in our program have to be enrolled in school and also working part time. And so we really help them to get back on their feet again by giving them the resources that they need.”

The non-profit organization depends on donations to help these families, and right now they need your help to carry on their mission.

The Brighter Futures Matching Fund is happening through the end of March. All donations up to $60,000 will be matched.
