Volunteers needed for San Antonio Book Festival on April 11. Here’s how to sign up.

Volunteers will receive a free T-shirt and access to the volunteer lounge for refreshments.

SAN ANTONIO — Love books and giving back to the community? The San Antonio Book Festival could use your help this weekend.

More volunteers are needed for the annual SABF, happening Saturday, April 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Central Library and UTSA Southwest Campus. Readers of all ages are welcome at the free festival, so expect thousands of people to flock to the downtown area.

Volunteers can be assigned to various jobs including being an author escort, a “gofer,” a greeter, a parking coordinator, a book signing guide, a supply manager and more. Organizers said each position is equally important and they are very grateful to all of the volunteers.

Volunteers will receive a free T-shirt and access to the volunteer lounge for refreshments. They are also encouraged to partake in the festival activities before or after their shift has been completed. To sign up as a volunteer, click here.
