The school has been placed on secure status out of precaution.
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — A heavy police presence in a nearby neighborhood had caused Voss Farms Elementary School to be placed on a secure status, according to police.
New Braunfels Police Department posted on social media that the heavy police presence is in a Voss Farms neighborhood. The incident is confined to a single home, according to the post.
Out of precaution, the nearby Voss Farms Elementary has been placed on a secure status.
Secure is called when there is a threat or hazard outside of the school building, according to the Texas State Texas School Safety Center.
“The public is asked to avoid the area while officers are on scene, and more information will be shared as it becomes available,” NBPD said in the post. “Your cooperation and understanding is appreciated.”
