
Waco police arrested a suspect accused of carjacking a woman on Bosque Blvd and injuring her before fleeing in her vehicle.
WACO, Texas — A suspect who allegedly robbed a woman of her car Saturday is in police custody, according to the Waco Police Department.
Waco PD Spokesperson Cierra Shipley told 6 News that officers were called out to the 1600 block of N. Valley Drive around 7 p.m. in reference to a stolen vehicle. Officers who arrived at the scene located the car in question.
Shipley said officers ordered the man inside the car to come out. When he refused, an officer was able to get inside the car and pull him out to bring the man into police custody. The officer suffered minor injuries.
Authorities identified the suspect as 25-year-old Cory Evans. Evans is being charged with aggravated robbery.
Evans reportedly approached a woman entering the car earlier in the day near the 4000 block of Bosque Blvd, pulled her away from the car and drove off, running her over as he drove away. The woman suffered minor injuries, according to police.
