Walmart is planning to bring hundreds of jobs to an area just outside of Waco, Texas with its new facility. The big box store company based out of Arkansas plans to build a milk processing plan in Robinson, Texas, south of Waco, that will bring nearly 400 jobs once it opens the facility, according to a news release from Walmart.
The company says it hopes to open the facility in 2026. This will be the third Walmart milk processing plant in the nation. The company began opening milk processing plants in the U.S. in 2018. The new facility allows Walmart to “meet the growing demand from customers for high-quality milk” while also allowing more of its product to be made in Texas, according to the news release.
“Walmart’s new processing facility in Robinson is exciting news for Texas, creating millions in investment for the local economy and hundreds of new, good-paying jobs for hardworking Texans in Central Texas,” said Gov. Greg Abbott in the news release.
The facility will bottle and process various milk products, including gallon, half gallon, whole, 2%, 1%, skim, and 1% chocolate milk for Walmart’s Great Value and Sam’s Club’s Member’s Mark brands. These products will go to over 750 Walmart stores in Texas Oklahoma, Louisiana and parts of Arkansas and Mississippi.
