
A man, found to be wanted on two outstanding warrants, was arrested after crashing into a DPS patrol unit and a 64-year-old woman’s car during a west-side chase.
SAN ANTONIO — A 35-year-old man is now in custody after crashing into a DPS patrol unit and an innocent woman’s car during a chase on the west side of San Antonio.
Around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper initiated a traffic stop on a blue Dodge Charger near the intersection of IH 410 & Water Edge Road.
Preliminary information from DPS suggests the driver of the Charger took off leading to a brief chase before the suspect lost control, struck the patrol unit, a 2025 Mazda SUV and a concrete barrier.

The suspect was identified as Dylan Ibarra Mendez and arrested on the scene.
Officials said Mendez was found to have two outstanding warrants, and will be charged with evading with a motor vehicle, and unlawful possession of firearm by felon.
The driver of the Mazda SUV was identified as a 64-year-old woman, and was not injured in the crash.
