Warriors 148, Spurs 106: What they said after the game

The Warriors dismantled the Spurs and led by as many as 47 points.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs lost to the Golden State Warriors 148-106 at home. Keldon Johnson scored 19 points, and the Warriors led the Spurs by as many as 47 points en route to the lopsided win.

Devin Vassell scored 12 points, and Chris Paul had six points and four assists. Stephon Castle finished with nine and three assists, and Harrison Barnes recorded six. Jeremy Sochan added two and two rebounds. Julian Champagnie finished with 11, and Malaki Branham had 13.

The Spurs are 31-43 this season and will host the Magic on Tuesday night at home.

Mitch Johnson:

“These guys have stayed together. We’ve been through a lot. We’ve had a long season, we’ve had highs and lows and adversity, and one thing that’s never wavered is their togetherness. That’s a testament to all of them.”

“I think both teams, through the course of the game, no matter who was in, I thought they executed and they played at a high level and they (Warriors) didn’t have any lapses. I think with us, that’s something we can learn from. Obviously, turnovers shot quality communication, defensive breakdowns, and things like that happened at certain times. When you’re playing against good teams, they capitalized.”

“I think anytime as starters, you start off the game and there’s a lag, it sets the tone. And for us, we have to be better. Mitch called us out on that. I thought the second unit responded or that came in, responded with more energy.”
